This is my blog and, as you can see, it’s a work in progress…It will be for some time, so please excuse the mess.
I’ve been wanting to get my “hands dirty” with some of the various Web 2.0 technologies that are out there, specifically in the area of search engine optimization and web analytics.
I’d also like to play with the various ad networks that are out there. I worked with an entrepreneurial Englishmen who paid for his entire college education by creating sites about paper airplanes and cocktail recipes. I on the other hand am still paying for my college education and desperately trying to save for my kids’ college education. I’ve got a few of my own ideas for potential sites, but I need to figure a few things out before I can realistically get those ideas off the ground. Hopefully this site will allow me to do just that.
Occasionally I also have the opportunity to speak to classes at The University of Montana (my alma mater) and at Washington State University (or wherever my good friend Dr. Wright happens to be teaching). I try to put together different talks to touch on different topics that I think will actually help them. I want to use this site as a way to capture the various random thoughts I put together as I prepare for those classes.
The other purpose of this blog, and what I’m actually looking forward to the most, is to keep in better contact with my friends and family. I always mean to keep in touch with everyone, but I usually get too caught up in my day-to-day activities. Between the demands of work and family I feel like I’m losing contact with too many people that I truly care about. Hopefully this will be a way to keep in touch with old friends and maybe make some new ones.
So that’s it. That’s what this blog is going to be about. Please spend some time reading what I’ve shared and leave a comment or two if compelled.
Thanks for reading!
